24 Hour Prayer 2023 Report

What a joy it was to see our churches come together this last weekend for our fourth annual 24 Hours of Prayer event! As admin for this group, I wanted to share with you a report about how the weekend went, under the following four headings.

  1. Strong participation: Over 60 people from at least 19 churches across the Kitsap Peninsula and Tacoma. Those churches were:
    • Adventure of Faith Church
    • Anchor Church
    • Anchor of Hope Reformed Church
    • Anthem Church
    • Believers Fellowship
    • Calvary Fellowship
    • Chapel Hill Church
    • Faith Presbyterian Church
    • Harborview Fellowship
    • Heart Church
    • Manchester Community Church
    • One Hope Churcn
    • Peninsula Baptist Church
    • Peninsula Christian Fellowship
    • Puyallup Nazarene Church
    • Rosedale Reformed Bible Church
    • St. Nicholas Catholic Church
    • Trinity Bible Fellowship
    • Wilderness Church
  2. All slots filled: To my knowledge, every single hour was filled!
  3. Stirring worship: We’re so grateful to One Hope Church and Peninsula Christian Fellowship for leading us in a wonderful, anointed hour of worship at the opening and closing of the event.
  4. Uniquely powerful prayers
    • Prayer is always powerful, but I would say, as one who was in the room for much of the event, that between around 8pm and 1am on Friday night, there was a powerful, palpable sense of God’s presence as a large group of us, from several churches, prayed together. Many of us would also testify to a deep sense of joy in the room. Knowing the value Jesus placed on the oneness of His church (John 17!), I remember thinking that perhaps we were experiencing a taste of God’s joy seeing His people come together around Him.
    • Other themes that emerged as we were praying together: breaking down of generational divides, intercession for those in our community who don’t know Christ, intercession for the incarcerated—and many others, I’m sure.

Please do share any other testimonies or feedback from this weekend. I’ve heard from multiple people about how encouraged they were by the time, and by seeing churches come together.

Praise God for His goodness to our community!

Blessings,

Michael
